Meet the Readers

Kevin Wu
Kevin Wu is a writer director whose films deal with queer identity and finding belonging in an unforgiving world.
Convin Splettsen
Convin Splettsen is a magician, speaker, moderator and author. Right now he works on a magic show that is driven by myths and legends and for his participants he creates little pieces of mythical art as a souvenir.
Andy Haskins
Andy is an Emmy-winning and multi-Promax Award-winning producer and editor. He is also co-creator of Clay-o-Gram, The Duck and Red Octopus Film Festival, and many other cult comedy classic animations.
Joan Sweeney
Joan’s passion is storytelling and alchemy: when she’s not acting or writing, she’s by the ocean, smithing words into gold and cheering her phoenix to new heights.
Kevin Jacobson
Kevin is a Norwegian, American writer/teacher based in Los Angeles. He was raised in a village in Norway. Kevin lives with his wife, best-selling author Annie Jacobsen and their two sons.
Quene Foree
Quene loves to travel, speak positivity and raise the world’s frequency. Fun fact - the green pumps mentioned in "a Contender" are hers! 💚
Mews Small
Mews has had major roles in 18 feature films, including “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Sleeper as Dr. Nero,” “Thank God It’s Friday” and “Man on the Moon”. Mews originated the role of Frenchy in the original Broadway production of the musical Grease.
Joshua Grapes
Joshua Grapes has been writing, editing, and teaching writing and editing for more than 10 years now. He is currently alive and well and living in Los Angeles. And every so often, he pops out of his hidey-hole to read a poem written by a good friend, or something like that.
Libby Weintraub
Libby June Weintraub is a mother, writer, and poet. In 2014, she gave birth to their stillborn child, Magnolia Grace. This loss inspired her to complete her first book of poetry titled She Was Born: Words on Loss and Liberationa testimony to the human spirit's capacity to heal despite inexplicable sorrow.
